Denver's eight-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday night against Middle Tennessee.

In the loss, the Pioneers committed 20 turnovers and allowed the Blue Raiders to grab 16 offensive rebounds.

"Twenty turnovers and 16 offensive rebounds. I don't need to say much more than that," head coach Joe Scott said. "We battled and put ourselves in position to win, but we didn't execute in the last four minutes. We've got to give Middle Tennessee credit because they are a good team and did what they needed to. We need to go back this week and work hard to prepare for North Texas next week."

Currently, Denver is No. 346 in the nation in rebounding.

Florida Atlantic defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 88-71 on Saturday for their seventh straight victory.

It was also the seventh Sun Belt Conference victory for the Owls.

"The crowd was tremendous," said Ray Taylor. "I think I warmed up the whole time with a big smile on my face because the energy was just terrific.

"Like Kore [White] even told the guys in charge of getting the section like that, that was like an extra 10 points before the game even started."

Troy sophomore guard Will Weathers has been named this week's Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

He averaged 29.5 ppg in a pair of narrow conference losses.

Against Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday, Weathers scored a career-high 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting (66 percent), while adding six assists and four rebounds.
